FAQ

The delivery is blended with real time remote classes delivered via our learning management system. As a full-fee student, you can choose whether to attend online classes or self-paced study or recorded sessions at your convenient time. You are required to go through the learning materials if choosing self study. Our interactive and supportive courses ensure you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to support your growth as a professional in the selected sector.
Students will also participate in some on campus simulation classes, and it will give them the skills to develop and implement the knowledge before going to the placement.
During the course, our placement coordinator will arrange for you to participate in a Professional Experience placement (hours depend on the course, and more information is available on each course page), enabling you to gain experience and network in the field.

If you are an employer and seeking a partnership with an education provider to provide education to your employees, we can offer online courses. We currently have an amazing offering with our Workforce Development for Business team who provide professional training for employers looking to upskill their teams. Plus, we do offer a discount for employers seeking multiple enrolments. Please contact us(ADD LINK) for more information.

We provide you with everything you need to complete your studies online, however, you have access to all the facilities the campus has to offer. Some courses include Simulation-Based Training and Professional Experience Placements(PEP).
For example:
CHC33021 –Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)
Theory: 100% Online
SBA: Online & Up to 3 days on campus
PEP- 120 hours in an organisation

Credit Transfers can be granted under any of the following circumstances:
  • Under the principles of National Recognition, a student is granted an automatic credit for any VET unit that they successfully completed.
  • When the unit has exactly the same code and title, even if it is not from the same Training Package.
  • Any Unit from any other training package where the learning outcomes are the same.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is where we formally assess your previous work and life experiences, along with any formal, informal or non-formal learning, and determine whether this could be worth credit in lieu of study. This means you don’t have to spend time learning things you already know.

Course fees are payable at the start of a course. Students who cannot pay their full fees at the start of a course may be eligible to apply for a payment plan. Certificates and Statements of Attainment can only be issued to students who have paid all fees or those who have entered into a valid Direct Debit Agreement.
A payment plan may be approved for a student in eligible courses if a student has difficulty paying the full tuition fee. Payment plan arrangements can vary between courses, and conditions apply. We accept all major credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) when paying online.

You can drop out of a course without financial penalty prior to the cut off date. IHNA will provide fee information relevant to a course before enrolment.
Fee information includes all costs for a course, payment terms, deposits, payment plans and refund information. If you'd like some more information, talk to your Enrolment Advisor.

Yes, if you have advanced standing towards the enrolled qualification, you may be able to complete the course early. This means that once you have demonstrated the required competencies for the course, you can be assessed and potentially finish the course earlier than scheduled.

The length of time required to complete your program will depend on your study load. We recommend visiting the course page or downloading the course guide to understand the time commitment. The general recommended time commitment is 10-12 hours per week, per course. If you are studying a program in an accelerated mode , the recommended time commitment is 20 hours per week, per course.

If you are enrolled in our Certificate or Diploma course, the Student Success/Administration Team will support you during your studies. They'll contact you to find out how you are doing and to offer advice, support, and referrals to other people or services within IHNA. For academic support, you will have access to the online weekly classes for the duration of the term for each unit you are enrolled in.

Yes, we have partnership agreements in most of the metropolitan areas across Australia, but they are limited depending on availability. Your placement coordinator will contact you at the time of Placement.
