Course Overview

With a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) from IHNA Online, you may turn your compassionate nature and people skills into a profession.

You will graduate from this program with the fundamental understanding and abilities needed to work in the aged, disabled, home, and community care sectors. You’ll learn how to assist people in managing their independence and wellbeing in their homes or in public places.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to work primarily in residential facilities and disability support centers under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organization guidelines and service plans.

Amount of Training

The amount of training required for this course is 770 hours, however depending on the amount of time invested by you – it can be completed in a lesser timeframe.

Intensive Mode: Students are encouraged to complete the course in an intense mode by learning for 40 hours per week or more, with ‘recognition of prior learning’ if available, allowing them to complete the course in as little as 3 months.

IHNA Online Admission Requirements

However, there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, but applicants should demonstrate the ability to perform tasks as required by the health industry.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders’ students are encouraged to apply.

16 years of age and above at the time of commencement of the course.

Satisfactory completion of studies in applicant’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 10 course is required for entry into this course.

Students may undergo language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) to identify Language, Literacy and Numeracy capabilities at the time of Orientation (prior to commencing the courses).

Students over the age of 22 will also be considered without the minimum education requirements. Each case will be reviewed individually to ascertain the capacity of the student to meet course requirements.

Digital literacy

Student must possess basic computer skills which includes covering the most common usages of a computer, including managing computer files, word processing, using spreadsheets and databases; creating presentations; finding information and communicating using computers; and being aware of social and ethical implications of Internet use.

How to Apply

Step 1

Application: Submit your online application by clicking “Enrol Now” and pay your tuition fees.

Step 2

Access: Explore the learning resources and start learning on your learning platform. Credentials, user guide and a conditional offer letter will be sent to your email

Step 3

LLN:You are required to complete an LLN test, within the first 3 days of enrolling

Step 4

Confirmation:Upon completion of your LLN and any other prerequisites, you will be issued a Confirmation of Admission

Step 5

Cooling off period:Once enrolled students have a 5 working days cooling off period (from course commencement date) to withdraw from the course and avail a full refund of the fees paid

RPL and Credit Transfer

Students must submit a portfolio of past evidence, which may include third-party assessments, and partaking in an interview procedure. They can further have their prior learning and work experiences acknowledged in this certification. A practical demonstration of the portfolio presented by the students may also be used to evaluate student’s competencies and expertise, which will give the educators a clear idea. In addition to this mutual recognition and credit transfer allow students to have their previous formal training recognized.

Credit Transfer

Credit Transfer is only available for Australian qualifications when a student has completed the units considered necessary for a qualification at another Registered Training Organization.
