There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however, applicants should demonstrate ability to perform tasks as required by the industry.

Successful completion of an Australian Year 10 qualification or equivalent.
In addition to meeting the academic requirements applicants must demonstrate their competence in literacy and numeracy levels in an Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) at exit Level 3 and participate in a pre-training review when enrolling into the course.

We use CT where you’ve completed units of study at another TAFE College or Registered Training Organisation that meet the requirements of another course. We grant credit according to the Certification, Issuing, and Recognition of Qualifications and Statements of Attainment. Assessing a CT is free.

For domestic students, the course is delivered in blended mode. For international students, the course is delivered face-to-face. Both include simulation-based learning, self-study and placement.
7. How is the course assessed?
Assessment includes knowledge-based tasks, theory assessments, simulation-based assessments and workplace-based placement assessment where required.
8. Can I apply for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer?
Yes. Eligible students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT) in line with IHNA policies and procedures.
9. What jobs can this course lead to?
