This course serves as a steppingstone to a higher degree in healthcare. You can use this course to fulfil the prerequisites for the Diploma in Nursing programme at IHNA and other universities. This will further help you for direct credit transfer, where you will move closer to becoming an Enrolled Nurse.
The knowledge gained from this course will help you advance in your healthcare career. You can take this course to fulfil the prerequisites for the Diploma in Nursing programme. This course may also count for enrolment in healthcare vocational programmes at levels three 3 and 4 respectively. By taking this course, you will be eligible for direct credit transfer, that will further help to move closer to becoming a enrolled nurse.
Coming to the various units in the course it covers – Anatomy and physiology, infection control, and medical terminology. This programme seeks to equip students with the skills they need to work in the healthcare field, especially the nursing field.

However, there are no formal entry requirements for this Course, but applicants should demonstrate the ability to perform tasks as required by the health industry.
16 years of age and above at the time of commencement of the course
Satisfactory completion of studies in applicant’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 10 course is required for entry into this course.
Entry into this course requires IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent.
Students will undergo language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) to identify Language, Literacy and Numeracy capabilities at the time of Orientation (prior to commencing the courses).
Mature age students (22+) will also be considered without the minimum education requirements. Each case will be reviewed individually to ascertain the capacity of the student to meet course requirements.

Student must possess basic computer skills which includes covering the most common usages of a computer, including managing computer files, word processing, using spreadsheets and databases; creating presentations; finding information and communicating using computers; and being aware of social and ethical implications of Internet use.

Students can have their competency from prior learning and work experience recognised in this unit through providing a portfolio of evidence, possibly including third party reports, and participating in an interview process. A practical demonstration may also be involved to determine currency and confirmation of skills. Refer to IHNA’s RPL policy for more information.
